I love this Wreath. It was not what I started out to make. In my head I had a wreath full of nothing but chalkboard hearts. Wouldn’t that have been amazing? The problem was that my head thinks in the big dollar signs and I shop in the little teeny tiny ones. A ton of wooden hearts would have been either a lot of cutting with the jigsaw or paying out the wazoo for some from the craft store.
So as I circled the store for the fourth time with the kids dragging behind doing their usual craft store chant, “when are we going to leave?”, I spotted this beautiful red and gingham ribbon in the clearance section. Christmas ribbon that was 80% off and perfect for my project? Yes please.
So I grabbed one wooden heart, ribbon, chalkboard spray paint and a white paint pen and came home to make my wreath.
I love it. so. much.
The thing that I really love is that I can change the chalkboard to any special message I want.
For instance, the week before Valentines I might put this message up for my hunk of burnin’ love to see….
And then the day before, maybe I’ll leave him this message:
Not for me of course, for the little chocolate monsters that live under the stairs.
Finally, just in case I look out my window and see a young handsome dashing 6 year old boy walking up my driveway with flowers in his arms, I can run outside right quick and put this one up….
I have three girls. This wreath will come in handy in the years to come.
See why I love it so much?
Want to learn how to make it? Come back on Monday. There might be a tutorial. *wink, wink*

This si really cute !! I love the idea of being able to change the message.
SUPERRR CUTE! I’m getting chalkboard paint tomorrow!
I love this! I’ll be linking to it for my new Show & Share party on Thursday! Stop by and grab a featured button!
So jealous of you right now. I’ve been trying to get one of those on my door. Now, I want a chalkboard to tell me husband all sorts of things like ” Love me right! Take out the garbage. Buy me a cake that feeds 50! Buy me diamonds.” Now I have to revise my first blue prints.
Maybe I’ll just scratch it all and make yours.
