We had a great weekend full of fun, laughs and accomplishments. However, we did have two major mishaps.
The first one happened Saturday afternoon when we were playing around outside and I accidentally took Princess Newbie for a sharp turn on her tricycle and she fell off, face first onto our driveway. You can imagine what I felt like since I caused it.
The good news is that with a cup of milk and a Kit Kat bar, she was better in minutes.
The next one didn’t heal so gracefully. Not even an hour after Princess Newbie fell off her tricycle, Princess Goofy fell while running into a restaurant and went face first into the sidewalk. If you have never heard Princess Newbie cry, it is deafening. We used to think that the oldest child held a definite spot in the future academy award winners hall of fame but now we’re not so sure. Princess Goofy fell apart at the seams. There was wailing… loudly.. followed by sobbing… for a long time. Then we walked into the restaurant and she teared up again telling the guy behind the register what happened. He gave her ice, which she put on her face and held there until I reminded her that it was on the wrong side. Ha! And the academy award winner is……
I am sure it was very painful though and my heart breaks when I look at her since the rest of her eye is now turning a slight purple. We did get her a big sucker that she has been asking for today to help her cheer up. She also took an ice pack to church this morning and her sweet bible study teachers even refilled it for her. Yes, milking it is her specialty.
So as of right now we have one child that does not have a rough looking facial injury. I’m thinking of making her wear a ski mask for the next few days. As I’ve learned, you can never be too careful.
