I wasn’t going to post today on the blog. It’s my birthday and Texas Independence Day for you die hard Texans. Yee-Haw! I declared it a day off.
This morning I woke up a little after 8:30 with Princess Goofy curled up in my bed asleep with me, Princess Girly Girl playing a learning game on the laptop at my feet and Princess Newbie still asleep in her crib. I couldn’t believe it that my kids let me sleep in on my birthday. It was a dream come true. Surely it was a sign of good things to come.
I woke Princess Newbie up and put her in bed with all of us to play for a little bit. Then she fell off and hit her cheek on the bed frame on the way off the bed. Ten minutes later we were out the door, rushing to the doctor’s office as her cheek turned many many shades of blue and purple. That’s when I decided that maybe this dream of a birthday wasn’t going to continue.
All I heard throughout the doctor’s visit was how hungry the girls were. Champ of a mom who still hadn’t fed her kids breakfast at 10am. We left the doctors office after Princess Newbie got a clean bill of health and a prescription for tylenol and headed to the donut shop. It’s the only way I could turn this day around, or so I thought.
Have you given donuts to really hungry kids who have been couped up in a doctors office for a really long amount of time? It’s the Big Bang Theory of Sugar. I rushed home to clean the house before I had to meet someone at our house. I decided to take a dead branch off a shrub right quick as I was running into the house and impaled myself on the same branch. I’m talented, I know. My arm now matches Princess Newbie’s eye.
The kids at this point were running around the house faster than atoms attempting to split. It was a dream come true.
The day did get better. I also treated myself to my favorite, ChickFila, for lunch and then applied extreme amounts of lip gloss, which makes me happy. We rested for awhile this afternoon and then took the kids to church for Awana’s.
I did score big time tonight at Target. Four Tshirts for $20 on clearance. That my friends is cheaper than Goodwill. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to get out the sewing maching and customize them. Normal is not my style.
I almost declared today a bust, especially since I hadn’t seen my husband all day.
Until tonight when he showed up at 10 o’clock, carrying a single cupcake with a single candle to tell me Happy Birthday.
So that is why I blogged, not to tell you how crazy my day was but to tell you how awesome my husband is. One little tiny thought and action is all it took to abundantly bless my day. So as of 10 o’clock, my birthday rocked.

Your are so blessed with your little family. At your age, I was just falling in love with my wonderful Pop,after spending 12 long years on a slowboat to nowhere. We have been married 32 years now and the time has flown by much too fast.Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!!!! again.
Aaaah. Love you and that man of yours. So sweet.
On a side note: What up with Goodwill? (that was supposed to be grammatically incorrect. its cooler that way) Why are things so expensive there? A little pet peeve I have. Old clothes should not be more expensive than new ones. Sheesh.
