Scent is an extremely important thing to me. Sometimes I think I must look like a dog with my nose pointed up in the air trying to figure out where that great smell is coming from. When we moved to this house in September I spent the first month outside trying to figure out what the amazing scent was that kept blowing by our house with the breeze. It only took me four months but I finally learned that it’s fragrant olive bushes planted on the side of our house that are giving off that great smell. They are just decorative, no olives are produced and they don’t even look like an olive tree so I’m not sure why they were given that name. Yesterday we were at Anthropologie trying on different perfume samples. I think I had on 4 different perfumes and my girls each had 2 or 3 and I loved it! I want to go back today and just bathe in it.
Therefore you can all conclude that the way a product smells can be a deal breaker for me. However today I want to share with you two of my favorite products that smell awesome.
When I turned (gulp) 31 this year I knew I would need a better skin care regime than my already non existant one. So when I was wandering around CVS I found this product by Neutrogena and decided to give it a try. The thing that had me sold on it is that on the back there is a little chart that has the scientific name for the product that is found in the ingredients and then gives you the layman’s term for it. You know exactly what you are putting on your face. If every company would embrace this practice, I would be thrilled. The best part though is the scent. It has a wonderful fresh scent that is so nice to wash your face with in the morning or in the evening. Sometimes I even wash my hands with it just because I like the smell it leaves on my hands. Next time you’re at your local store just stop by the face wash aisle and give it a whiff, you’ll love it too.
You can also find it on Amazon and while looking I found they have a lot more of the same naturals line! I’m so excited, I might order one of everything. Neutrogena Naturals Facial Cleanser, Purifying, 6 oz.
One of the things that I also love is this family owned company, Scents of Soy. They come to our local farmers market to sell their candles and soy tarts. These are two new scents that I picked up on Thursday but I also have some older ones such as mistletoe and strawberries and champagne. Thursday afternoon when I got home from the Farmer’s market I put the Kettle Corn one in the scent warmer and turned it on for maybe an hour. My house smelled like the best buttered popcorn on earth with maybe just a touch of extra sweetness. Then I shut it off to run out the door and was gone for 5 hours. When I walked back into my house that night at 9pm, the entire house still smelled like Kettle Corn. I was blown away. The Acqua di Gio is very fresh and clean smelling while mistletoe has a distinct christmas smell. They also have one named Monkey Farts that I smelled at the farmer’s market. It does not smell like monkey farts, thank goodness, but it would be so fun to give as a gift. You can find more products at www.scentsofsoy.com. They also have free shipping!
Do you have any great smelling products that I should know about?
Just to let you know, I was not paid to say any of this. Neither of these companies know who I am or have ever worked with me. I just like things that smell good, like babies heads. The Neutrogena link to amazon.com is an affiliate link but they also carry it at CVS, which is where I bought it.

I tried out that face wash once and although I do share your sentiment about the smell, it didn’t remove my make up well so I had to find another cleanser.
We adore the smell of Flowerbomb perfume by Viktor and Rolf, the minute I run out of it Lance is at the mall buying another bottle. It’s definitely my signature scent.
