I’m Alive. True Story.

I’m alive!

So sorry guys. I have gotten your emails, thank you for the love! My last post was so down and out but that’s only where the real fun began.

Here’s the quick run down of the situation;

Princess Newbie got sick Monday night as Mr. Byrd was walking out the door.

I finally got everything cleaned up and got her to bed ten minutes before he walked back in the door.

I was up sick the entire night.

Mr. Byrd left on a business trip that morning but I assured him that I would be alright before he left.

I was not alright.

I thought about where I should leave the will incase I died from the stomach flu. I would leave my stunning good looks to my sister Julia (a.k.a “The Jerk”) and all my household responsibilities to Mr. Byrd.

Finally around 5pm I drug myself out of bed to survey the disaster of the house that happens when a 7 year old is in charge and fixed them sandwiches for dinner.

Princess Goofy caught the stomach flu and started throwing up.

Apparently I passed out from sheer exhaustion sometime in the afternoon and the girls went upstairs and took Princess Newbie’s bed apart. It’s just plastic that snaps into place but it was quite a shock that night when I dragged myself upstairs to put her to bed.

Wednesday morning everyone was better but weak.

Wednesday afternoon we cleaned up the huge mess but it took 4 hours because I kept having to stop and rest. I was just so worn out.

Mr. Byrd got back last night after all the throw up had been cleaned up, the house disinfected and the sheets all washed yet he still felt sick this morning.

I feel like making up a batch of fake throw up, tossing it on the floor tonight and yelling, “you’re turn!” before running away.

This junk that we have been passing aorund is straight up nasty. I do not wish this on anyone.

Princess Newbie never caught it but since she was so sick with Croup the week before, we’ll just call it even. I’m also going to buy stock in lysol.

But the good news is that my grandmother is doing a little better and hopes to go home from the hospital today. My sister said that the doctors said she might be able to go home today but apparently Granny interpreted that to mean, “I will go home today no matter what”. She’s feisty as ever, that’s a good sign. Plus some good that has come out of this is that a home health person that was hired to take care of my grandfather while my grandmother was in the hospital is going to stay on and help for awhile. This is great news that they have been resisting doing but needed to happen a long time ago. My grandmother is the strongest person I know. She’s moved kids across the country by herself in the 50′s and 60′s while my grandfather was stationed overseas. She raised the family while supporting her career military husband who was serving our country and required to be gone with no email or modern communication for months at a time. She’s tough but even the toughest most awesome women deserve a break and I’m hoping she’ll finally let someone else take care of her for a change.

Hopefully soon we will all feel better and be able to go up there and visit both of them.

Also I know I pick on my sister, The Jerk, a lot because it’s how we work. But she spent a lot of time at the hospital with my grandmother this week which was something I was truly heartbroken over not being able to do. No matter how much I pick on her, just know that she is simply amazing. Thanks sister.
