Crazy things happened on Friday.
We woke up early and made cow masks so we could get free food from Chikfila for Cow Appreciation Day.
We appreciate the cow and when he’s not looking, we pull his tail. Sometimes we also poke him in the nose but he’s a good sport.
The best part is those strange kids standing with my kids aren’t strange at all, they’re the best friends that moved away a year ago. Today they were back. The girls are best friends and their mom is my best friend. It was amazing just to sit and talk in person, not over skype.
They moved to California purely on faith and I think they’re awesome for that. They also have a pretty amazing CD out that you should buy named, I Am Yours. I listen to it all the time.
After lunch we checked out a local cupcake shop that I love and then we had to drop them back off at where they are staying.
I was expecting tears from Princess Girly Girl since she sobbed when they left (I did too). In interest of full disclosure, I did tear up on the way to meet them today. But the biggest surprise was that Princess Newbie, who was almost 2 when they left, is the one that sobbed today. She cried and called out their names while pointing and telling me to go back. It was sweet.
We drove back to our side of town and decided to go check out the lake that is down the road from our house since the Houston area has had a lot of flooding lately. It was very flooded, covering up and in some cases relocating the docks.
While we were there we got to watch a man reel in a huge catfish. This was the largest catfish I have ever seen and since I grew up in the boondocks, I’ve seen a lot of them. It was so heavy that he had trouble picking it up to get a picture with it. P.S., that’s two fish pictures on my blog this week. I’m going to the dark side.
Afterwards we came home to find out that another storm had hit our house while we were gone.
To top it off, tonight we made an emergency run to Toys R’ Us to get a Dora Castle for a potty training maniac who had reached a huge goal. But, they were out of Dora Castles and when we got home we found out in the not-so-great way that the goal had been defeated.
That was my Friday, how was yours?

I did this a few weeks ago and when I was filling it up the bag kept moving on me, slowly rolling downhill as more water was added. I thought I was on a fairly level surface, but I guess not. The kids did have a good time on it until it got alot of holes in it. Might have to use thicker plastic next time.
