This weekend we packed up and headed out of town. We left the traffic and high speed internet of Houston behind and headed out into the bug filled wilderness. Three hours later and we arrived at Toledo Bend, which divides Texas and Louisiana.
We did a ton of fishing but the bad news is that there are no fish in this lake, whatsoever. Ok so my last picture will disprove that but let’s just say that if were depending on fish for food, I would have become a size 2 in no time.
We swam in the lake with life jackets which is always kinda fun since anyone can get tossed into even the deepest waters with little worry.
Damion’s dad drove us on the boat to a little beach across the way. Boats are fun and they pull the sagging skin on your face nice and tight.
He said that next time he would teach me to drive the boat. Hide the kids, hide your wives, hide your jet skis cause I’m driving!
Basically we had a really great time even without cell phone service or internet. (GASP)
I know that she had a great time and she actually slept at the camp, which is something she’s never done before. Yes she did sleep part of the night on my head but location doesn’t really matter.
The best news is that apparently the ability to catch huge fish runs in my family. Look at that whopper! Hello! Clear the wall space, we’re getting that baby mounted!
Now that swim team is over for the girls hopefully we’ll be able to get back there before it gets too cool. Plus I need to set another fishing record. This time I’m going for a 4 incher!
