We spent this weekend at Damion’s family’s camp and it was wonderful. Princess Goofy had been talking for weeks about what she wanted to do for her birthday. Bowling, the beach, Chuck E. Cheese, and maybe the mall were all on her agenda but we knew there was something she would like even more if she had thought about it. So we secretly planned a quick trip to the camp and asked Mimi and PawPaw to join us.
Friday night Damion took the older two to the movies while I secretly packed their clothes and put them in the van. The next morning we got up, threw the ice chest in the van and took off.
The girls couldn’t figure out where we were going. Princess Goofy was determined that we were going to the beach and Princess Girly Girl thought we were just going on a picnic.
Three hours later we arrived at the camp and Mimi and Pawpaw were waiting.
There was a fun day of flower picking, metal detecting (with no luck), tree climbing, and tons of fishing.
They went non stop the entire day.
They loved the equipment that is at the camp from PawPaw and Uncle Danny building it entirely by themselves.
Everything in the camp, everything you see has been built by Damion’s dad and uncle. That is simply amazing if you ask me.
Later in the evening we had a small birthday celebration complete with presents, cake and a campfire.
And this picture….. deep breath…. only because I always say that I want to keep it real around here. This is as real as it gets. No makeup, dirty freshly slept on pony tail hair holding up a fish that I just caught. The double chin is just a bonus. No one looks like they are fresh out of a magazine. No one.
Even this cutie patootie.
