Someone was ready to go home with us. Don’t worry, we didn’t take him home. I am hoping that he loves this spot as much as I do and that we can find him there again.
Beautiful Views and Duck
Without a doubt, I love beautiful views. There’s a hill near my in laws house that has views of a valley and small town. Everytime we visit my husband makes fun of me because I just have to stop there and look for a little while. In Houston, it’s hard to find areas with amazing views. Houston is flat. There’s no hills and no valleys. So imagine my surprise when we were checking out our new side of town two years ago and wandered into this park that boarders a river. It’s calm and beautiful with a boardwalk leading you into a little cove. And if you’re really lucky your kids will pose like this for a photo….. Weirdness runs in their veins. They can’t help it. The views are amazing and just get better as the sun starts to fade. Without a doubt, it is one of my favorite places. This week it happened to get even better. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll see that as we were getting into our van to leave, this guy appeared. And no, that picture is not zoomed in. He walked right up to me and wagged his talk like a dog. I gave him a tater tot that I found in my van and he declared us best friends. The duck would not move far enough away from my van that I felt safe leaving for fear of hitting him. He finally decided to go hang out behind my van so I followed to chase him away but he wasn’t there anymore. Where was he? The squeals of delight gave him away…..
