It’s almost September.
You know what that means right?
No it doesn’t mean that I’m dancing around on a bus singing because my kids went back to school. We homeschool so that wouldn’t really help me anyway.
It also doesn’t mean that I’m getting ready for apple picking and hay rides because we live in Houston where it’s too hot to grow apples and also too hot to venture outside for the next 3 weeks.
What it does mean is that I’m hunkering down and getting ready for Blog Elevated Conference.
Monday I stared at my laptop for a few hours straight, followed by more phone calls than I have actually made during the entire year so far.
The girls entertained themselves. First the oldest made crayon lipgloss using cocoa butter and melted crayons. then she took it a step further and made eyeshadow using chalk and cocoa butter.
Then they decided it was lunch time and I supervised them making their own lunch. They had gluten free hamburger helper minus the actual meat and salad topped with frozen vegetables. Hey …. they made a gourmet meal and were very proud of themselves. They even set the table with mason jar glasses and stripped straws. They were one step away from hipster.
The offered to make me a plate but I politely declined because I wasn’t hungry at the moment. (looking at their meal took care of any hunger I was feeling).
Then the oldest informed me that she would be able to make friend chicken for dinner because she watched it on Food Network. Yeah… no.
We are on break from homeschool right now. Our plan was to officially finish at the end of August and then start again mid October. Somewhere in the middle of August we just fizzled out. Our brains were fried and we needed summer fun.
Now we are on break until October so I can work on Blog Elevated and they can have a much deserved break.
So all of that long explanation to let you know I’m going to do my absolute best to still rock this blog. But please have patience for me this next month.
Blog Elevated and the amazing agenda we have this year is so important to me and I hope that you can see that as well.
In fact, if you’re a blogger I would love to see you there.
So I beg for leniency for this coming month and prayers (for sanity and success) are greatly appreciated.
These flowers have nothing at all to do with this post but they’re pretty and I didn’t take any pictures Monday because it would just be of our office and my laptop. Or it might have been of one of my animals which Mr. Byrd says I post too much already.
Here’s to Tuesday! and a successful conference!
