One of the best parts of writing this blog for the past 7 years is that it’s a scrapbook of my life. If someone would have told me 7 years ago that I would have this amazing chance to look back over our kid’s lives and have stories that they can read over and over again, I wouldn’t have believed them.
Last night as I was looking through old posts I found this post that I first posted on April 10th, 2011. I had forgotten all about how excited our youngest was to get this cute car bed when she moved out of the crib. I wasn’t sure about it but it was on Craigslist for a good price and Mr. Byrd was excited to finally have a chance to have a kid with a car bed. This bed stayed with us for years and I almost cried when I loaded it up in the van to take it to it’s new home.
Here’s the post from four years ago today:
Prepare yourself for cuteness. Ready?
Someone got a big girl bed today. She LOVES it. I can’t even describe the cuteness that was he when she figured out that it was her bed.
Have you realized what happens when you give a girl with the nickname of “monkey” a bed with a top?
Oh yeah. And that game went on for a good twenty minutes until she was getting a lot braver and a lot faster. Then we had to put a stop to it because we were scared she would get hurt.
It’s so cute I just want to go in there and stare at her sleeping in it.
Don’t worry, I won’t. The older girls used up all the flashlight batteries.
There were many nights I snuck in her room to check on her asleep in that bed and watched her sleep. There’s many nights I still sneak into her sister’s room, where she now sleeps with them, and watch them all sleep. Sometimes I even find them not asleep!
And we still call her monkey because she loves to climb! She’s so full of life, it’s amazing.
This blog has been a blessing in so many ways.
Now hopefully it can help you out as well. If you have a weather forecast like we do, thunderstorms every day for the next week, this Kool-aide playdoh can help you entertain your kids!
Check it out and make some today!
