This is my granny’s recipe. Yesterday was her birthday and I waited too late in the day to call her. I’m a bad granddaughter but she’s always been the best grandmother imaginable.
Things with my grandparents have really changed over the past few years. I remember the last time we visited them at their house and she was trying to send me home with a ton of stuff. I kept putting it back and telling her we would get it at a later time if she still wanted us to take it.
Before I was able to visit again they had to be moved into a facility and their belongings were put into an estate sale. Now I wish I could go back in time and take it with me, just to have something of hers with me here.
My mom is giving me my grandmother’s nativity set so I will have something soon to daily look at and remember. It might set out year round to be truthful.
Thanksgiving is coming up soon and granny always made this dessert for me at Thanksgiving. Put it on your list and try it soon. Who knows, maybe you’ll have a bad granddaughter one day that forgets to call you on your birthday that you can make it for.
There’s so much more I could say about granny but I’ll let the yumminess of this icebox pie do all the talking for me.
You can find the recipe for Gluten Free Icebox Pudding Pie here.
