One of my favorite times to shop for Valentine’s Day crafts is during Christmas clearance. There’s so many great red items that are on sale that you can easily use for Valentine’s Day.
For instance, have you ever thought of making valentine’s day treats from candy canes? All you need to make these cute chocolate Valentine’s Day treats are mini candy canes, white chocolate chips, lollipop sticks and sprinkles.
I happened to find boxes of 50 mini candy canes on clearance for .50 cents. (If you can’t find them on clearance, they’re only $6 on Amazon find them here.) I knew I needed to do something with them other then let them sit in the cabinet for 11 months. Yuck.
So I decided to make Valentine’s Day Heart Lollipops and they were a huge hit at my house.
These are simple. Really all you do need are mini candy canes, lollipop or cake pop sticks, white chocolate chips and sprinkles.
Start by laying out the mini candy canes into heart shapes on a nonstick surface, and insert a lollipop stick through the bottom of the heart shape.
Melt your white chocolate chips in the microwave by heating for thirty seconds, stirring well and continuing this method until they are all melted.
I made 8 lollipops using about 1/3 of the 12 oz. bag.
Cut off one small corner of a plastic bag and fill with melted chocolate.
Use the plastic bag full of melted white chocolate to fill the inside of the heart shape.
Use an extra lollipop stick to smooth out the chocolate.
The chocolate hardens pretty quickly. If you want to add sprinkles, do it almost immediately after filling with chocolate.
Then you’ll be left with really cute lollipops that are fun and easy to make. A cute gift for anyone you love this Valentine’s.
My girls absolutely loved these. Personally, I couldn’t believe how quick and easy they were to make.
Without a doubt, these are a must try Valentine’s Day treat.
