For all you sickos that saw the header and thought something else, shame on you! Just kidding!! We are going to strip but we're going to keep it G rated and only strip paint. In case you have never heard, there is quite a conundrum with my kitchen cabinets which were painted before we moved in. The contractor who painted before we moved in did a great job applying a primer that won't come off but the dork who lives here (me) is horrible at painting the cabinets. I have painted them three times in the seven years we have lived here. Even though the contractor that painted the cabinets … [Read more...]
How to Shop at Goodwill for Kids

I love a good thrift store. Anything that is cheap, vintage and slightly smelly is A - OK with me. That is the philosophy that lead me to my husband after all. Here in Houston Goodwill is expensive. Keeping Your House Market Ready

Anytime I hear someone mention listing their home for sale, I hear the same thing. "Groan... I have to keep the house clean!". I have never been called a neat freak in my entire life. In fact, my dad used to lovingly refer to my car as the rolling trashcan. I was really dreading keeping our house clean but with a few simple steps, I've been able to keep it spotless and ready for showings. Someone … [Read more...]

Handmade Gift Idea: Peg Dolls

My kids love Peg Dolls. Princess Newbie is constantly finding them around the house and walking around with them in her hands. They are the perfect gift to give to little girls for Christmas or to stick in stockings. Last year I made them for my girls as stocking stuffers and this year I made these for my niece. I'm going to decorate an old wooden cigar box to look like a house for them and give it to her for Christmas. I think she'll love it.You want to learn how to make them? They are super simple and anyone can do them.. yes anyone! even if you can paint. If you can make lines and dots, … [Read more...]
