A Review of Sunday

lake houston

People always ask me if I ever get projects that just really mess up. Yes and Sunday was proof of that. I planned to paint a glass jar in my kitchen with the word "rice". Well I bought the wrong paint and then I applied it too thick trying to make it work for me and it bubbled up when it was curing in the oven. So we ditched the crafting and spent the afternoon at the park instead.  There is a huge park a few minutes from us that is adjacent to the lake and river that feeds into it. It's a great park that's always packed with people walking or jogging on the trails there. I like going … [Read more...]

Humor of Mom’s Life

Strawberry picking in Houston

When I started this day it was 80 degrees, I had a favorite avengers coffee mug, a perfect sized Starbucks mug, a glass straw from Glass Dharma that I was partial to and nerves of steel.  Now it's 50 degrees and I'm down two mugs, one straw and on a bundle of nerves not to mention brain cells.  So how did today go? The Camp Weekend

Clara with a flower

We spent this weekend at Damion's family's camp and it was wonderful. Princess Goofy had been talking for weeks about what she wanted to do for her birthday. Bowling, the beach, Chuck E. Cheese, and maybe the mall were all on her agenda but we knew there was something she would like even more if she had thought about it. So we secretly planned a quick trip to the camp and asked Mimi and PawPaw to join us.  Friday night Damion took the older two to the movies while I secretly packed their clothes and put them in the van. The next morning we got up, threw the ice chest in the van and … [Read more...]

When You Like Cats and Dogs Too Much

photo (95)

I was hesitant to share this picture here because I know someone will glance at it and not read the explanation.  However the humor behind it finally convinced me to share it. Simply this is one of my daughter's writing assignment from the other day. I didn't give them any rules or guidance other than they had to write a short story and use phonics to spell everything rather than the dictionary. I wanted to see where they were at with phonic rules, plain and simple.  This is what one of my daughter's gave to me.  It is supposed to say,  "I like cats and … [Read more...]

Always, Always, Always Thankful

There is always, always, always something to be thankful for.

Thankful.... For my kids who drive me oh so batty but love me unconditionally. For my hudband who chose to marry me knowing I love Ice, Ice Baby. For my sister who all call themselves my #1 sister, which they all are. For my dad, who is still chasing dreams when others are giving up because they feel they are too old. For the heat of Texas when it's snowing in other places. For the people that run towards danger in order to help. For the men and women that leave their families to protect.  For the opportunity to own my own business and work from home. For … [Read more...]
