Bluebonnet Pictures 2013

Bluebonnet pictures from Clumsy Crafter

If you live in Texas than yearly Bluebonnet pictures are a must for your family. These are our pictures from 2010 and because I'm scatterbrained, that's the last time we took them. The Bluebonnets are only out for a few weeks each year and I usually forget about taking pictures until they are gone. But the other day the girls put on their flower girl dresses from my sister's wedding last year and we headed out to a local drainage ditch (yes this is a drainage ditch) that is covered in bluebonnets.   It was a great evening. And then we got this picture..... Yeah. … [Read more...]

Eight

gracefacesilly

She's 8 today. Little Miss Prim and Proper who this year has figured out the joy of burping and fart jokes is not so little anymore. I cannot believe she's 8. It seems like she should still be a tiny baby with a strawberry blonde mohawk, not a big girl riding her bike and learning how to do jumps on her scooter. She's a natural born gymnast which she obviously did not get from me. This week she showed me her one handed perfect cartwheel. Half way there to her goal of a no handed cartwheel. She's the one that is the most like me. Shy, nature loving, animal lover that wants to do … [Read more...]

Car Night at Awanas

car night smile

Wednesday night was car night at Awanas.  Awanas is simply kinda like a christian girl scouts but they learn scripture to get their badges and jewls. Every year our church hosts a car night for Awanas where the kids decorate a cardboard box to look like a car and then they have a drive in movie in the church gym. They also have a parade for the parents to see all the cars. Some parents go all out to make cars that are simply amazing with their child. This year there was a UFO that actually lit up, a Flinstones car and a Bi-Plane all made from cardboard boxes. I really want our kids to … [Read more...]

The Playhouse

If you follow me on facebook you saw these pictures yesterday. But there's more it than just a picture. You see, my kids built themselves a fort this week using old lattice. It was literally just a pile on the ground in an area behind our garage that I beg them to stay out of because of a large utility box back there. I hate it when they play back there. It's just dirt and electrical wires, the 2 things that no parent wants their child playing in. So I figured that the only way to keep them from playing there was to move their fort. So I took the old lattice and some cable ties and made … [Read more...]

For The Love Of Polly Pockets

Our kids are only slightly spoiled but just to the right amount and mostly at the hands of an extremely loving grandmother.  We don't give them an allowance for doing chores because right now I want them to help because they are part of the family, not because we are paying them to do it. So yesterday when Mr. Byrd told them girls that they would each get a new Polly Pocket if they helped bag up the branches we were pruning off of some plants outside, they went crazy. Those girls worked hard and with determination to be able to go get a new Polly Pocket doll. But of course, that kinda … [Read more...]
