For the Love of Chalkboard (cabinets)

We had to do a lot of things around the house to get it ready to sell. And once again, I had to paint the kitchen cabinets. In case you haven't heard about my saga known as "these annoyingly stupid kitchen cabinets" you can read here. After I painted them that time.. the paint peeled off. Truly I think the paint that I had used that time was bad. So two weeks ago I stripped all the paint off, sanded them, and painted them again.  It actually went a lot quicker and looks awesome. My favorite thing though is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I painted the inside of the cabinets … [Read more...]

National Craft Month Inspiration

cupcake

The last cupcake has been eaten, the balloons all withered away (just like my youth), and the music has stopped. However, we don't have to stop celebrating yet. My birthday is over but March is National Craft Month. If you ask me, an excuse to recklessly use your glue gun is better than a birthday any day. Our big project here at the house is over, which I will be sharing about later this week, so it's time to get my craft on.  Here's a few posts to help us all get some inspiration going and warmed up.  <  Don't forget that kids need crafts too. This is a great easy project for those of you that are scared of harder craft projects. First you need the following supplies... flat wreath form, wide wired ribbon that is at least 1/2 inch wider than your wreath form, hot glue … [Read more...]

Valentine’s Wreath

Valentine's Day Wreath Tutorial

I love this Wreath. It was not what I started out to make. In my head I had a wreath full of nothing but chalkboard hearts. Wouldn't that have been amazing? The problem was that my head thinks in the big dollar signs and I shop in the little teeny tiny ones. A ton of wooden hearts would have been either a lot of cutting with the jigsaw or paying out the wazoo for some from the craft store. So as I circled the store for the fourth time with the kids dragging behind doing their usual craft store chant, "when are we going to leave?", I spotted this beautiful red and gingham ribbon in the … [Read more...]
