Mother’s Day Craft

Mother's day craft idea

Somehow Mother's Day has slipped through my fingers once again and I don't have any Mother's Day crafts posted. Who's shocked? Yes we all know I'm a slacker. But this is the perfect gift to make using ceramic tiles for mother's day. It's a quick gift that I wish someone would make for me.  This post was originally from 2009 but I'm sharing with you today in case you need a last minute Mother's Day gift idea.    I saw this idea on someone else's blog but I cannot remember where! So this is not my original idea... but I'm still going to share it with you because I love how it … [Read more...]

Freezer Paper Stencils

freezer Paper stenciling from Clumsy Crafter

Sometimes it's hard to find a dinosaur shirt for girls. I know that might sound pretty crazy but it's true. It was a great day when I stumbled across Freezer Paper Stenciling. It's easy and quick and a great way to make personalized items, especially if you want to make a tshirt for your kids using freezer paper as a stencil. To start, gather a roll of freezer paper, Tulip Soft Fabric Paint, an iron, a paintbrush, and a tshirt or other fabric surface to paint. Step 1: Draw or print out the item that you would like to use as a stencil on the freezer paper. You can print directly onto … [Read more...]

Valentine’s Wreath Tutorial

Valentine's Day Wreath Tutorial

Friday I posted this wreath and then promised the tutorial for today. Since the next few episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" hasn't come in the mail via Netflix yet, I guess I will post the tutorial today. If it had come in the mail then well all know that I would be doing nothing but having a "Big Bang Theory" marathon.  I am not crazy, my mother had me tested. This is a great easy project for those of you that are scared of harder craft projects. First you need the following supplies... flat wreath form, wide wired ribbon that is at least 1/2 inch wider than your wreath form, hot glue … [Read more...]

Boring Shoe Redo

glittershoes

Last year Damion bought me sparkly silver converse shoes for our anniversary. It's all I wanted since I have a love of fun, funky shoes. They were great for a year but then they got dirty and dull. All the sparkle and shine had went away, it was kinda sad. So I decided to redo them. Do you have any old lifeless shoes that you want to make shine like the top of the empire state building. (name that movie) I've also fixed the girls glitter shoes sold at target the same way when the girls wear a spot bald. First you'll need Mod Podge and glitter. I used the really fine Martha … [Read more...]

Recycled Gift Bag Revisited

oct09_295

Here is another old project that was posted about this time last year. It's a gift bag made from recycled Capri Sun pouches. I'm still working on my project so I hope you're enjoying these older crafts that you might have missed. Recycled Gift Bag: Sometimes I hate seeing how much trash we have as a family of five. There are often days that we use an entire trash bag in one day. Lately I'm trying to throw less away. I'm saving anything glass and trying to at least let my girls play and destroy with anything cardboard. Now if I could just figure out what to do with those pesky CapriSun … [Read more...]
