Spring Door Hanger

Spring Door hanger by Clumsy Crafter

My door has been naked since Christmas. It's shameful and downright scandalous but after having the supplies sitting on my counter for a few weeks a friend came over on Thursday and we both made spring door hangers. The spring door hangers are one of the many perfect burlap crafts that are out there. I forgot to take pictures while we were making them but they are pretty easy. I got the chevron burlap at Hobby Lobby and you would really only need 1/2 a yard to make at least two of them. I also made felt flowers using the super cheap craft felt and painted on the word  "spring" with regular … [Read more...]

Burlap Stuffed Pumpkins

happyfallyallpumpkin

Lately I've lost my mojo. Maybe it got left in one of the miscellaneous boxes that wouldn't fit in the Uhaul and got left at the curb? Perhaps one of the kids took it and is hiding it upstairs in their closet as their "pet". I'm not sure what it is but all I know is that I want to get it back. That is a hard thing to do when there's a thousand boxes just laughing at you, kids that need to be taught because they need to pay for my retirement, and a huge house to get used to cleaning. There is no time right now for making things. AH HA! But my friend Courtney did not get this memo and I am so … [Read more...]

National Craft Month Inspiration

cupcake

The last cupcake has been eaten, the balloons all withered away (just like my youth), and the music has stopped. However, we don't have to stop celebrating yet. My birthday is over but March is National Craft Month. If you ask me, an excuse to recklessly use your glue gun is better than a birthday any day. Our big project here at the house is over, which I will be sharing about later this week, so it's time to get my craft on.  Here's a few posts to help us all get some inspiration going and warmed up.  <  Don't forget that kids need crafts too. My favorite thing to do is … [Read more...]

Valentine’s Wreath Tutorial

Valentine's Day Wreath Tutorial

Friday I posted this wreath and then promised the tutorial for today. Since the next few episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" hasn't come in the mail via Netflix yet, I guess I will post the tutorial today. If it had come in the mail then well all know that I would be doing nothing but having a "Big Bang Theory" marathon.  I am not crazy, my mother had me tested. This is a great easy project for those of you that are scared of harder craft projects. First you need the following supplies... flat wreath form, wide wired ribbon that is at least 1/2 inch wider than your wreath form, hot glue … [Read more...]

The Ruffle Wreath – Tutorial

DSC_0094_copy

I know ruffles are starting to go out of style and burlap is all the rage. But.. I had this idea for a wreath and I love it. I don't know care if it's in or out... it's currently on my front door. I thought I would share a little tutorial with you just in case you wanted to be sooo last season as well. Vintage is cool. To begin... I had two colors of fabric in my garage that I got on clearance this past spring. It was a very bright yellow and orange fabric with dragonflies on it. It was too bright for fall and dragonfly's don't scream fall. So I simply tea dyed the fabric to downplay the … [Read more...]
