A few months ago I did a live blog where I popped back in several times throughout the day to update about that day’s activities. Mr. Byrd came home that night and told me he really liked it and that I should do it more often. Since he’s a smart guy, I should probably listen to him more than I do. So…. today let’s try it again shall we?
My day started at 6:45 when I got up to tell Mr. Byrd bye as he left for work. I had planned to get up and start this live blog at that point but an adorable little girl crawled in bed with me and I had no choice but to snuggle. She fell back asleep and so we just stayed there for another hour. I know it won’t be much longer until she’s too cool to crawl into bed with us so I’m going to take what I can get and run with it!
After she got up I got sucked into reading the news about the Baltimore protests, which is beyond sad.
Then I made coffee and toast and now I’m holed up on the couch doing some work online while the kids are upstairs cleaning their room. I know, you can laugh at that. We all know that no cleaning is happening but it’s supposed to be.
Hopefully I can focus and work for about an hour before our day really begins.
11am – This day has gotten away from me! Throwing on basic make-up and getting out of the house! And no the upstairs is not clean.
11:30 – Library to learn about Venice. She wanted to know more about Venice after watching 19 Kids and Counting when Jessa honeymoons there.
2pm – We’re back from the library but on the way out the door there we ran into a group of women who were all making wool hook rugs. They were kind enough to stop and talk with us for a few minutes about how they make the rugs. The rugs were amazing!
I’m not editing any of these photos today so please excuse the giant thumb.
Now the girls are working on their school work for the day. I let them get a snack from the vending machines at the library whenever we go simply because it’s cheap! Today they chose to get 7ups to drink.
We usually do school work in the afternoon because there’s too much going on in the mornings. Any activity that we do with our co-op or friends usually happens in the morning and it’s easier just to do it in the afternoon rather than always adjust the schedule. This is why I also run errands, go to the park or to the store in the morning.
The one problem right now is that they’ve started swimming in the afternoons at 4pm so this week will require some adjustment to get it done in time to get dressed for swim.
4pm – 5:30 – I sat in the freezing freak weather (60 plus very cold wind) while the kids did swim practice in the outside pool. I tried to beg the youngest one not to do it. I was so ready to go home and the oldest two were done. We could have gone home! But she wanted to do it. Halfway through I briefly panicked because I couldn’t find her anywhere in the pool. Then I looked towards the people in charge and saw them escorting her, shaking and wrapped up tightly in her towel out of the pool area. The girl gave it her best but it was just too cold.
6pm – warm baths and gourmet dinner of freezer pizza. It was so gourmet that Mr. Byrd couldn’t eat his so I would up running to grab him something he could eat. The littlest one spent the whole evening wrapped in a fleece coat because she was still cold.
8pm – 19 Kids and Counting. It’s my kid’s favorite show, actually the only show besides shows on The Food Network that they watch. Don’t mess with them during 19 Kids and Counting.
9pm – #BlogElevated Twitter chat! Every Tuesday at 9pm we hold a Twitter chat. It’s a crazy fast paced hour and tonight I was leading the chat so it was even crazier. If you want to read what we chatted about – Facebook for Bloggers:Going Beyond Fan Pages you can read it here.
10pm. – Chat over, hanging around for a few minutes to check the analytics from chat and check on what I have to do tomorrow.
10:30pm – Heading to bed hours before I normally do because today was exhausting.
11pm – Ha! Well I went to bed but then I got sucked into reading about carrier oils for essential oils online. But I’m signing off.
Thanks for following along!
