There ain’t no party like a 96 year old birthday party cause the 96 year old got it going on. Well, I never promised to be a rapper. Heck, I’m not even a decent wrapper since I wrapped Princess Girly Girl’s birthday presents in bulletin board paper and electrical tape this year.
Saturday we ventured out to Alvin, Tx to attend Damion’s great great grandmother’s 96th birthday party. The day was great. First to be with so many people that gathered to wish their sister, mother, great grandmother and great great grandmother a happy birthday was just an amazing testament to a raising a family based on a strong legacy. Secondly it was just fun. There’s nothing like the older generation sitting around catching up and telling stories while the younger generation gets all loopy on sugar and soda while their parents aren’t looking. Our kids went down in flames tonight at 10pm.
There was time spent with cousins that will leave these girls talking for months! I hated having to tell them that the boys are related so they can’t be boyfriends.
There was cake. (yum).
This extremely handsome hunk just wandering around so I brought him home with me.
There was a beautiful dog that I would have loved to also bring home but there’s no more room at this inn, as of Monday.
There was a massive football game where Princess Newbie scored a touchdown.
Most surprisingly is that there was even time out at Great Great Grandma’s birthday party. P.S. This was not great great grandma approved.
The world’s best hosts happen to be throwing the party.
There were even a lot of very hyper kids and some gorgeous teens there to wish their great great grandma a happy birthday.
Damion’s great grandmother, Florence, is a living testament to what happens when you raise your family in love and an overwhelming peace.
Happy Birthday Grandma.
