I love Pride and Prejudice. Honestly I really love anything by Jane Austen. Maybe that's one of the reasons that I keep making all of these free printable Pride and Prejudice quotes. Who knows? Or possibly is it because I think in Jane Austen? The other day I got up off the couch and my bones all creaked and moaned (because I'm old) and the first thought in my head was "I've been sitting too long in one accord." And let's just be honest - there's days that all I want is to see Mr. Darcy walking across a misty field toward me. Instead I get my own modern day … [Read more...]

The Versions of Pride and Prejudice Obsession
Any book by Jane Austen has a cult following. Her books have strong female leads and conquer the trials of that day in a way that still brings hope. Without a doubt Pride and Prejudice has the largest following of any of her books. The main character, Elizabeth Bennet, isn't afraid to buck tradition to pursue love, even when she's too proud to see the love right before her. It's an amazing book that has since been turned into countless other books, movies and mini-series. In fact there's so many other versions of this book that they can kinda be hard to wade … [Read more...]
Pride and Prejudice Printable
Without a doubt Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books/ movies. It's one of those books that I stay up all night reading and one of those movies that I watch over and over again. Since it's the lovey dovey time of year I knew that this Pride and Prejudice quote by Mr. Darcy had to be made into a free printable. The best thing about the quote "You have bewitched me body and soul and I love, love, love you" is that Elizabeth Bennet still turned down Mr. Darcy's proposal of marriage right after he used it to profess his love. I'm not a feminist shouting that she … [Read more...]
All You Need is Love (and Mod Podge)
This is an older post but let's be honest, I just love it. I still have this little wooden heart sign and each year it's one of my favorite Valentine Decorations to pull out of storage and put on the shelf. It makes me happy. That's why I hope that you'll like this super simple Valentine's Day Craft as much as I do. There's a wall in my kitchen where I have my paint chip art that I've been meaning to add a few other things to as well. My plan was to have a small gallery wall by the kitchen table full of things that make us happy. Then I got the call that a local news station wanted … [Read more...]
What I’m Reading – 3 Non-Fiction Books and 3 Fiction Summer Reads
If you've followed me for a while then you know that there are days that I read almost as much as I breathe. I'm an avid reader of happy books. I don't read mysteries or crime books, I leave those for my mother-in-law. I want to read books that leave me with happy little feelings inside, which is also why I watch Hallmark movies. You get me, right? I know I'm not the only one. However lately because of this post, I've been reading a lot more nonfiction books. Usually, I just want to get lost in a fairytale but this year I got a little lost in my own pit of despair so I've been reading … [Read more...]

Many of you know that I love to read. In the past few years I've pretty much stopped watching TV and now spend a few too many hours each week curled up with my Kindle and a book. Love Me Like Mr. Darcy Loves Elizabeth – Free Cut File or Printable
Today people say, "Kiki, do you love me?" but way back when, before texting and online dating, there was a man who told a woman that he loved her most ardently. I'm a die hard fan of Pride and Prejudice. The book, the movies, the TV special - it doesn't matter, I love them all. That's why I made this Pride and Prejudice free cut file. Because let's be honest, in the time of Tinder and other questionable dating practices, sometimes we just want to be loved like Darcy loved Elizabeth. DIY Halloween Costumes – Memories From Years Past
I would be happy to turn off the porch light and hide in the house on Halloween but my sweet husband was insistent that we dress up our girls and let them make the memories of Halloween that we both have from childhood. I'm not a fan of Halloween. There I've said it. I live in a world of Pride and Prejudice filled hope and dreaminess and I'm happy there. I don't want to think about skeletons or ghosts. Another pet peeve of mine is spending a ton of money on a poorly made costume that's going to fall apart almost immediately. Now as I sit back and look at pictures, I am so happy that we … [Read more...]

Visiting the George Bush Presidential Library in College Station, Texas
A few years ago while in Austin my husband and I visited the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library simply because it was on the recommended list of things to do in Austin. We happened to visit during a time of political upheaval in America and at that time, wars of words were flying back and forth between the two parties. Part of me didn't want to walk into a library /museum of a President because I was already sick of hearing the two sides tear into each other and to be truthful, he was a democrat and I'm a republican. However that one visit truly opened my eyes to the human … [Read more...]
