This weekend I tried to keep my phone in my pocket more. I took less photos and just concentrated harder on documenting what I really wanted to remember rather than every single second. Well except for a few pictures that I took just for social media such as the King Cake Burger cause…. it just explains itself.
Pictures like this love of mine who had a black snout when we adopted him 12 years ago.
Or this cat that drives me crazy and is determined to be an outside cat. But our girls love her and she is good with them.
Finding beauty in the middle of a city. I love views and I always stop to take them in. Mr. Byrd always laughs and shakes his head when I pull over to get a better view off the top of a hill. But I always tell him that he could have the wife that likes to look at the view for free or the wife that likes to shop for fancy purses and cost him hundreds of dollars. He said he’s happy with the free views.

Don’t worry – we didn’t stay in Houston the whole weekend.
This… well… It’s hard to explain unless I told you that we took a day trip to Louisiana this weekend and that will sum it up for you.
Our kids love Louisiana. It’s the land of alligators, fun yard swings and crawfish that they insist on calling lobster. (Look how much they’ve grown up since these pictures on their Aunt Debbie’s swing two years ago.)
And of course, I did ask Aunt Debbie to snap this picture of our family with my in-laws because what’s the point of a phone with a camera if you don’t capture a family photo every now and then?
Then I got home and realized that we didn’t get a photo with Aunt Debbie. I guess we’ll just have to go back and do more swinging on the swing. My plan to take less photos and not use my phone as much backfired on me just a bit.
