People always ask me if I ever get projects that just really mess up. Yes and Sunday was proof of that. I planned to paint a glass jar in my kitchen with the word “rice”. Well I bought the wrong paint and then I applied it too thick trying to make it work for me and it bubbled up when it was curing in the oven. So we ditched the crafting and spent the afternoon at the park instead.
There is a huge park a few minutes from us that is adjacent to the lake and river that feeds into it. It’s a great park that’s always packed with people walking or jogging on the trails there. I like going there because it’s gorgeous and because of the water views. It’s so pretty that you always see several local photographers out doing photoshoots. I always spy on their gear and set up.
We were there for 2 and a half hours and had the best time exploring and picking wild blackberries.
We picked hundreds and hundreds of blackberries but only came home with one small bowl of them. Who can resist fresh picked blackberries? Not any of us, that’s for sure.
This cutie told every single person on the trails that we encountered about her love of blackberries. Their response was always, “we know!”. Her face and hands were pure purple by the time we left.
Then we took this pictures which on of my friends later told me perfectly exemplifies each of their personalities. I agree 100% percent. This one is going to be a framer.
Finally we gave up the search for more blackberries and headed to Sonic for iced mint green tea. Have you tried it yet? Oh my, it’s amazing. You’ll thank me for telling you about it when summer gets here.
How was your Sunday? Covered in blackberry goodness or just a lazy day at home?
