Things looked different for the Byrd family last week. In case you didn’t notice there wasn’t a Friday post (and why didn’t you notice??). Plus there was no traffic, no cleaning to do and no mosquitos waiting to eat us alive the second we walked out the door.
We snuck out of town and headed a few hours down the Texas coast to Port of Aransas to spend some time on the beach.
And did we ever spend time on the beach! There were sand castles built, naps taken, books read and much much more all while sitting in the sand. It was perfect and needed. Without a doubt, we needed a break.
It was a great few days and we were sad to leave. So sad in fact that when I got up at 6:30am Sunday morning to photograph the sunrise before we left I found some other familiar faces already on the beach, waiting for the same thing.
Before we knew it, it was time to pack up and head back home.
Was it a great vacation? The best if you ignore the live rattlesnake that had a nice cozy cage in the local candy shop.
Until next time beautiful sunrise… until next time.
The only thing that I’ll see rise this Monday is my laundry pile.
