It seems crazy that you can use crayons to dye Easter Eggs but it's true! Actually.. it's semi true. You're not using crayons to dye the eggs, you're using the heat of the egg to melt the wax in the crayon which leaves a really pretty decoration on the egg. No matter what, I still think this is a better option than dying eggs. Here's the truth - I hate dyeing easter eggs. It doesn't matter how many towels you put down someone's going to spill the color and it's going to go everywhere. Then the kids are going to fight over who gets the pink dye first. If you put down several cups … [Read more...]

Marbled Easter Eggs are beautiful to look at but honestly - they're even funner to make. This is a great craft that is a fantastic alternative to traditional egg dying. Last year I shared with you how to make marbled easter eggs using butter, which to me made prettier eggs that are safe to eat but you could never get the butter feel 100% off the egg. Little Clay Hearts – Happy Valentine’s Day
Sometimes I get a crazy idea in my head at the last minute. OK so I always have crazy ideas in my head but sometimes I let them make an appearance. This idea to make little clay hearts from polymer clay to give to friends for Valentine's Day was just one of those ideas. Two years ago I made marbled polymer clay heart necklaces. My daughter still wears hers to this day. They're simple and fun. But there were a few hearts leftover from that craft that I never made necklaces with. In fact, I added a white area to write and used them for small encouragement trinkets. One of them I even glued a … [Read more...]

Santa Bread Tutorial
Way back before being a crafter was cool I used to watch Martha Stewart. I'm not talking about her swanky talk show based in the beautiful cream and white color studio. I'm talking about the Martha Stewart where she wore overalls and talked in a simpler manner housed what looked like the mix of a chicken coop and log cabin. That is when I first saw her make santa bread. Then a few years ago an old rerun came on and I saw it again. That year I knew I had to make it for our neighbors at christmas and I've made it every year since then. It's so fun, festive and yummy, who can resist? … [Read more...]
