2013 was an amazing year. Mr. Byrd and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary, I only kept the paint samples on one wall for 9 months instead of the usual 2 years and somehow our kids continued to grow at unbelievably fast speeds.
There’s been so many great memories made this year. We watched our oldest child start changing and striving for more maturity. Our middle child stayed as goofy as ever but her heart of compassion grew even larger. And sadly I had to stop letting the baby of the family be a baby. My house is now free of all plug protectors, booster seats and toddler beds and I won’t confess to letting it go without a fight. We conquered another hot summer of swim team (yea! Just don’t remind me that it starts again soon), we lost a guinea pig but added a fish and we now have three bike riders in the family.
This year I was able to fulfill part of my goal to encourage other women by starting Blog Elevated Conference and we’re now busy planning for 2014. That was a huge success for me and I’m thankful for my super husband who tolerated his absent minded wife adding more things to her plate.
On the craft front….. My oldest two have started using the glue gun independently, without asking (ugh.). Not only that but this year I feel like there were some amazing posts here on Clumsy Crafter.
So what’s the cream of the crop from 2013?
Personally one of my favorite craft tutorials was this one:
Mason Jar Candle Votives – One of the reasons it was my favorite is because the pictures just don’t do it justice. They were simple but pretty and at night when the light from the candles were shinning from inside of them it was just plain magical. These will make an appearance again in 2014. My favorite wreath was this fun summer wreath I made with wooden doilies –
I love this Festive Summer Wreath. It was so cheerful on the front door. Although the 4th of July Patriotic Wreath was a close second on my list of favorites. My favorite free printable was this simple poster I made as a reminder to my girls –
Speak the Truth Free Printable. I simply just love the message and I wish I had enough gumption to live by it.
One post that didn’t get any love that I truly adored was the girl’s halloween costumes –
I loved how their costumes fit their personalities but really I loved how well the minion costumes I made turned out. They were the hit of halloween. Ignore the messy walkway. It had stormed all day in Houston and literally cleared up minutes before we took these pictures.
When it comes to food my favorite recipe of course involved chocolate –
Chocolate Covered Honeycomb candy was just so much fun not only to discover but then to figure out how to make it. Without a doubt, this recipe will be a family tradition.
Yet my most popular post this year wasn’t even a craft post!
My most popular post with over 90,000 pins on Pinterest was….
What To Do When Your Child Is Throwing Up – Ha! I guess you can take the glue out of the glue gun but you can’t take the mom out of the puddle of mystery liquids.
Thank you to all of you who helped make this year truly memorable! Because of you reading and sharing these posts Clumsy Crafter has grown by leaps and bounds! I hope you find great tutorials to help you be creative every single day even on days when all you can give to creativity is a wink and a nod.
