Many of you know that I love to read. In the past few years I’ve pretty much stopped watching TV and now spend a few too many hours each week curled up with my Kindle and a book.
My husband has suggested I marry my Kindle but I’m already married so it just gets to be my long-term boyfriend.
If you’re a book lover, this is the post for you! If you’re not wild about reading, pick up a copy of Pride and Prejudice and give it a try. (Just kidding! If you don’t like to read, check out this Modern Hoop Wreath tutorial instead.)
But if you do love to read then you’ve come to a great place today! Let’s get this party started! (And just FYI, Mr. Darcy is the guest of honor.)
First let’s get started with the perfect craft for book lovers:
Notebook Style Library / Reading Totes
These are some of the simplest crafts that you will ever make. All need are canvas bags, fabric markers and a ruler. Not only are they adorable to take to the library but they’re also the perfect teacher gift.
A great craft to make right now with kids as they go back to school are these super cute Cereal Box Notebooks. They’re simple to make, fun to personalize and can be a great addition to any backpack. Because they’re small and easy to make using items from the recycling bin, they’re also perfect for taking notes as you read your favorite books.
Mo Willems Pigeon Craft for Kids
My daughter was over the moon when we made this quick painted book craft using her favorite character, The Pigeon. This is so simple to make a great looking project! You can use the same technique for any animated children’s character. It’s fun and your kids will love it.
Free Printables for Book Lovers:
I’m not going to be able to add all the printables from this site involving books to this section. It might be a little too long if I did that. Let’s just say that if Mr. Darcy ever said it, I probably have a printable of it. However, here’s a few of my favorites to get you started.
Free Printable Book/ Reading Tracker
I love, love, love this printable book tracker. If you use a planner or a bullet journal, you need this in your life. You fill in the names of the books that you want to read on the book spines and then as you read them, you simply color in the book to show that you’ve completed that book.
If you’re looking for a Free Printable Reading Log for Kids, I have one of those too!
My Courage Always Rises – Pride and Prejudice Printable
This is one of the newest Pride and Prejudice printables on this site and I personally think it’s one of the most overlooked quotes from the book. I love this and I think it would be best printed out and slid into our daughter’s backpacks as they leave for school.
Without a doubt, this is one of my most saved pins on Pinterest. The last time I checked it was at 21.7K saves. You can save it too and use it whenever you wish.

What I’m Reading and The Book Tools I Can’t Live Without:
First and foremost, I’m a huge fan of Kindle. I’ve been reading on a Kindle Voyage for years but sadly they have recently discontinued it before I could buy an extra one. Of course they day before they pulled them from their site, my other one broke. Right now I’m kinda floundering between reading on my phone and my Kindle Paperwhite. (yes, I had 2 Kindles because I’m that reading crazed.)
If you want to check out the different Kindles and what Kindle might be best for you, I’ve written out the differences in Kindles on this post.
Also we can’t forget my favorite shirt. I actually like it so much that I now own two. And I bought my mother-in-law one as well. Without a doubt, it’s the shirt I get the most comments on.
Amazon actually has a ton of styles of this same shirt now. You can buy your own Bookmarks are for Quitters Shirt using my referral link.
When it comes to the books I love, I’m a sucker for classic English literature and modern remakes of the same stories. That’s one of the reasons that I love Katherine Reay so much as a writer. Plus, the details and thoughts that go into her books are amazing.
Another writer that I really enjoy is Rachel Hauck. Her Royal Wedding Series is dreamy.
Finally
What am I reading right now? Nothing. Why? Because as scary as it is to tell you, I’m trying to finish writing my first fiction book. It’s a race against time to get it to an editor and published before the anniversary of Hurricane Harvey since the flooding that happened in our own community inspired the book.
What are you reading? What is your favorite book that you can’t live without?
[…] Do I love to read as much as I like to write? Yes! I’m an avid and I mean AVID reader. Check out some of my favorite books and reading tools. […]
