Some of you might have noticed that I’ve been gone for a few days. *crickets*. No one? As expected.
It started out pretty simple with plans to post on here on Sunday but then this happened;
There has been a ton of pool time the past few days. It started with the girl’s first swim meet on Saturday. They did really great. In fact, Princess Goofy did so great that she stole first place in a heat. What? How do you steal a heat? Well she was sitting behind the starting block waiting for her turn when she saw that no one was swimming in her lane for that heat, got confused and jumped in the lane several seconds behind everyone else. She swam so fast and hard and beat everyone. It was hilarious.
Princess Girly Girl did great too and tried as hard as she could.
Immediately after the meet we kissed Mr. Byrd good bye and all hopped in the van to head up to the DFW area. After a few stops, including one in the middle of nowhere for a child bathroom emergency, we finally made it to Ft. Worth just in time to meet my grandparents, uncles and aunts, and my cousin and her baby for dinner. It was great and the first time I have seen my cousin in probably more than 10 years since she lives in Wyoming.
After a short stop to see Aunt Julia, the one that calls me jerk, we headed on out to Mimi and PawPaws house where there was even more swimming.
Proof that the weirdness does not only come from my side of the family since these are Mr. Byrd’s parents;
And in full disclosure, I also jumped off the diving board while wearing the duck floaty, and the unseen monkey floaty. Crazy is contagious.
Don’t worry, it hasn’t been all rest and relaxation…. no… those kids had to work.
If you’re looking for the Water Blob Tutorial, It’ll be up on Wednesday. I’m working on it right now.
The journey has been great but it’s time to move on. Next stop…. Denton, TX.
Aww! So exciting about the swim meet! I swam in the wrong heat once, but it was because my mom thought the empty lane in the heat before mine was supposed to be my spot…she shouted, I believed her, and off I went 🙂 I think I was a bit older than your girls…maybe 9 or 10. That pool looks lovely!
