Elf on the Shelf is a lot of fun for parents and kids but sometimes coming up with constant ideas on where to hide your Elf on the Shelf can be a lot of work. So I wanted to help you out and give you 7 Elf on the Shelf Ideas complete with pictures.

1. Elf on the Shelf gets trapped!
Jessie and the Toy Story gang are at it again. They come to life at night when no kids are around and this time they trapped a mischevious little elf in a jar. Maybe Santa can talk to those toys and convince them to let his elf go.
To do this look, use making tape or washi tape to affix Jessie’s (or another large dolls) feet to the table and her arms to the jar.
2. Elf on the Shelf goes sledding.
Who doesn’t love a sled ride? The Elf on the Shelf sure does. Simply make a sled using candy canes and water to hold it all together. I taped the main candy canes down and then added the shorter cross pieces until the water had dried and it set into a sled. Use masking tape to everything together.
3. Free Candy Canes for clean rooms –
Elves love it when they get to report to Santa that everyone’s room is clean! A simple sign taped to a candy cane makes an easy Elf on the Shelf that is also a little motivational.
4. Elf on the Shelf gets captured (again) but this time by the jealous dogs –
Dogs Rule and Elves Drool. There’s a rumor going around that the dogs trapped this elf using a puddle of syrup and candy as a trap. Now they taped him to the chalkboard to teach him a lesson. Simple Elf on the Shelf set up made using washi tape and a chalkboard.
5. Elf on the Shelf loves Syrup-
Everyone knows that Elf on the Shelf loves syrup. This is another easy idea that’s great for the last minute when you might have forgotten to move the elf the night before. A bottle of syrup and two strasws taped together is the easy last minute Elf on the Shelf setup.
6. Elf on the Shelf has accidents too –
Uh-oh. It’s a little potty humor, Elf on the Shelf style. Chocolate chips set on the toilet lid is funny for kids to see. It’s an easy way to get them giggling on a cold december morning.
7. Elf on the Shelf loves Cookie Butter –
Who doesn’t love Cookie Butter? Elves love all things sugar and Cookie Butter is no exception.
To do this Elf on the Shelf, tightly wrap the elf’s legs and torso in saran wrap and then place in an empty (or mostly empty) Cookie Butter jar. Add a spoon and you’re ready!
