There was a time that I hated Houston.
Hated driving in the traffic and seeing the graffiti.
I hated the fact that we had no family in Houston.
But little by little and more and more each year I’m starting to love it.
It’s beautiful but a different type of beauty. No lush green fields full of sunflowers but plenty of art and architecture. So many different people, roads that somehow all fit together, and buildings so tall they sway in the wind while all the time standing firm are amazing.
Slowly but surely I’m coming to love this town.

I am a Houstonian, removed by force and a hubby job change 15 years ago. Yeah, Houston traffic sucks and there are parts of the city that seriously warrant a good scrubbing; but let me tell you Houston grows on you. I miss it badly. I still visit often because my family lives there, but I don’t get the same experience that living there gives you. I happen to drive down Allen Prkwy/Memorial during a bad rain storm a couple of weeks ago and … I LOVED IT! I still think about the places I use to go to and the things I enjoyed…I miss that beautiful city…and yes I still consider my self a Houstonian 🙂
