I’m blessed to have awesome men in my life. My grandfather and my dad are two of my heroes and have both worked hard to leave amazing legacy’s for my kids. My father-in-law is one of the most giving men I have ever met and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed (or even just wanted) it.
However there’s one guy that means the most to me because he’s the one that chose to put up with all my weird quirks and idiosyncrasies for the rest of our lives.
Mr. Byrd has meant the world to me. This November we’re celebrating 10 years of marriage after a whirl wind courtship and marriage that you can read about here. He’s an outstanding husband that occasionally just shows up after work with coffee for me or does the little things like gives me his auto cell phone charger because he thinks I’m going to electrocute myself with the rigged one I was using.
More importantly he’s a great dad that got thrown into a house of all girls and is ok with it (mainly because we haven’t reached the teen years yet). He teaches the girls to work together and strive hard for their goals. He served the 15 volunteer hours for the swim team that our family had to contribute single handidly because he said that I do enough just getting them to practice every day. When you choose to stand in the direct sun with the sunlight bouncing off the pool and hitting you directly for hours on end timing a race just because you feel like your wife did enough just by taking the kids to swim practice, that’s love. Not only that but today he stepped in and served several more hours that we didn’t even need because they needed someone.
At the last minute today after spending the entire morning at a very hot outdoors swim meet followed by swimming for fun at our pool, I decided to video tape a little message for him. Please excuse our crazy hair and tired eyes, it had been a long day!
and because you thought it couldn’t get any weirder….
This thoroughly entertained by 3 year old. I think you need your own YouTube channel.
working on it. 🙂
