Howdy. I’m Bobbie.
Some of you know that but some of you didn’t know so now you know.
I thought since it’s a new year, we’d take a minute and play a little game called, “getting to know you“. Really this is just a time to play catchup to help you be able to find my posts when there’s something new or simply find out what my family is up to each day. Sometimes my family does really interesting things, somedays we might help lull you to sleep because it’s the same ol’ “clean your room!” 5,000 days in a row.
But first, let’s take a second to give you a little intro.
The gray hair in that photo is real, as is everything else I share on this blog and on social media. I’m not one of the “perfectly posed” types so what you see is what you really get.
I’m married to this guy, Mr. Byrd, who makes my heart go pitter patter or drives me nuts, it’s how he likes to keep me on my toes. We are polar opposites. He cleans and straightens, I make things – such as a mess.
We have three kids – they’re all girls which means there’s a lot of drama at my house.
Last year we hosted an exchange student from Mongolia, which was one of the best experiences of our lives….
So we decided to do it again this year and are hosting a student from Kyrgyzstan. Hosting exchange students have really changed our world perceptions and made us reevaluate what matters the most to us as a family.
We live in Houston, Texas and happen to love it here. One of the things that makes us laugh the most is when people don’t realize how big Houston is and ask us if we know their friends who just moved here or why I can’t just go to a certain store in Houston, without realizing that even though it’s in Houston, it’s an hour away. Houston is big and as we learned this year with Harvey, Houston is strong.
What will you learn on this blog? Simple things like how to get superglue off of your fingers or how to make s’mores rice treats. Honestly there’s so many posts that I’m proud of. At the bottom of every post, you’ll find other suggestions for you. I’d recommend you click through to some of them from time to time. If you are looking for certain ideas, head over to my homepage where I have it broken up into categories that will help you.
So now the business part:
Here’s where you can find me on the web –
Facebook – I have a ClumsyCrafter Facebook Page and I’m also starting a Clumsy Crafters Facebook Group.
Instagram – I love Instagram stories a little too much.
Pinterest – Ah… my crafty love language.
Twitter – I use Twitter mainly to help teach blogging and social media so you won’t see many crafts on there from me but if you’re a blogger, it might be a huge help to you.
What if you want to get these posts via email?
No problem! Here’s where you can sign up to get an email about new posts.
What products do you recommend for crafters?
Here’s my *affiliate* product recommendations on Amazon.
What else do you want to know about me?
I’m an avid reader. I don’t watch TV very much because my Kindle gets jealous. My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice and I can’t stop reading a book I hate. You could call me a dog lover but that’s a bit lacking on my actual obsession with furry things. We like to travel around Texas and go on adventures. Actually my kids all groan and whine when I say we’re going on an adventure but by the end of the day, they’re always begging to do it again soon.
The past two years I’ve been honored to have been named one of the top social media influencers in Houston and I love to teach others how to blog through Blog Elevated.
What else is there to know? I guess you’ll have to read to find out more.
That’s enough about me for now. This month I plan to share with you a tutorial for making a funny sweatshirt, my family’s favorite soup recipe and get started on some Valentine’s Day crafts.
Wow! You and I are alike in some ways. My favorite book also is Pride & Prejudice. I also can’t stop reading a book I hate unless it has talk of, let’s say things that shouldn’t be public but private and is way TMI. I am also think of starting to blog about my life as some terrible and pretty wonderful things have happened in my life. I think maybe it might be able to help others, Still pondering & praying about it. Thank you for sharing you life and your talents with us & may GOD bless you and your family.
Very Sincerely,
Joy Gwilliam
Thank you Joy! I know you’ll find the path that God has for you.
