Mantel

Wow. What a weekend. Princess Newbie was really sick and this weekend has been long.  I was going to do a weekend wrap up today followed by the valentine’s wreath tutorial on Tuesday but everything is up in the air after this crazy weekend. So to save my sanity (stop laughing) tonight I’m just going to post my Valentine’s Day Mantel. I’m really into Valentines this year because the girls are old enough to LOVE it. So I went all out this year but still kept it simple because I’m trying to declutter my life right now and simple is key. Now my husband is laughing uncontrollably at the thought of me being clutter free since I am the definition of pack rat. I am going to do it though! So here’s my mantel… Almost everything is handmade. Yeah, go me. The heart bunting that is draped across the dirty mirror is the only thing I made last year for valentines. I would hang it across the actual mantel itself but when I tried, Princess Newbie also tried to set a world record for it’s destruction. So up on the mirror it went. My dollar store hurricanes just have some valentine’s candy in them with a bow tied around each one. I also needed something tall since my fireplace is so white and the walls are so white.. and everything is super high. So I made this.. A how to tutorial might be showing up somewhere sometime soon.  Don’t worry, I didn’t make the clock. That clock must always be in that exact spot or Damion and I are both lost. I tried to move it one time and it threw off our whole balance and rhythm, no joke. So that’s my mantel. Take it or leave it. I would defintely like to leave it in the 80’s, the fireplace itself.. not the decor. I’m linking up with The Stories of A to Z Fireplace Mantel Party
