Pinterest is a wonderful wonderful thing. Am I right?
While my in-laws were here for Christmas my mother-in-law told me that she had finally signed up for Pinterest and was spending a lot of time on it. Now my father-in-law is kinda quiet and doesn’t speak up a lot so of course it was a shock when he said “a lot, and I do mean a lot!”. Now that is the power of Pinterest! It sucks you in like a wonderful black hole full of yummy recipes and crafty projects.
I love Pinterest and you can usually find me hanging out there pinning to my Wreath Obsession board or Clumsy Crafter board.
But one of the things that I love the most about Pinterest is that it shows me what you really love. If one person pins it, than I’m happy. But if thousands of people pin it than I know it was a great post and that is better than if Starbucks started home delivery.
The past two years I’ve had a few posts on Pinterest that have really gone crazy.
First there was the halloween costume for the Flower Pot Girl.
This one did so well that people online recognized the littlest Byrd girl in person from the picture on Pinterest. Wow. That was when Pinterest was first taking off and it was a wake up to the power of Pinterest.
Then there was the Water Blob which went viral on Pinterest.
Last there was the post on What to Do When Your Child is Throwing Up.
This is the post that I wrote when I was too bogged down with a sick child to do the post that I had planned and just wrote what works for me when I’m dealing with sick kids.
But if you want to check that post out let me tell you that there are sooo many comments on that post that have amazing ideas. Don’t forget to read the comments!
But now we’re on the last day of 2014. So what post from Clumsy Crafter did the best on Pinterest in 2014?
The Heart Tote Bag Tutorial made using a Pencil was the most pinned post from Clumsy Crafter in 2014!
I love that project. I am a pencil lover to the core and the fact that you can make such a cute project using pencils, paint and a tote bag makes me happy.
Writing this post made me realized that I don’t have a Pinterest board for pencils….. or I should say that I didn’t have one. But now I do. It’s a new baby board so there’s not much there yet but if you love pencils like I do, than check out the Pencil Crafts Board on Pinterest.
