Shop Hobby Lobby Day
Hobby Lobby is the happiest place on earth to a crafter. Great items, great prices and if you’re a christian, the same beliefs. It’s a company that doesn’t hide their religious affiliation. Now they are facing steep penalties at the hands of ObamaCare because they do not want to give their insurance that provides abortions or the morning after pill. In order to support Hobby Lobby and tell the government that we do have freedom of religion, Today (Saturday January 5th) has been deemed Hobby Lobby day, a time to get out in force to support Hobby Lobby.
Without getting too political let me say that Hobby Lobby currently gives their employees insurance that provides birth control and they are ok with that. However they do not want to provide an insurance that provides abortifacient because of their religious belief for life. They are not trying to get out of giving their employees insurance or even normal birth control. They simply want to adhere to their beliefs and be able to run their business that way. America was founded by people looking for that very same goal.
This is not a fight about Pro – Life or Pro – Choice or even a misguided fight about a company not wanting to provide birth control to women. No where in the constitution does it say that a company must provide every single thing that a person desires or wants. Domino’s Pizza was given a waiver against participating in Obama Care because their owners are Roman Catholic and do not want to provide their employees with birth control at all. McDonalds was given a waiver and it was rumored that it was only because they threatened to pull their current insurance from all employees if they were not given one. No one knows why Hobby Lobby was denied a waiver.
So now Hobby Lobby is doing what every American has a right to do and are going to the courts to get a waiver. They are waiting for their case to be heard in the Supreme Court. In the meantime they are abiding by the part of ObamaCare that says that they will pay a daily fine of 1.3 million until they comply with the law. They are playing by the rules, even though the rules are nothing but malarky. If you don’t think they’re a big bunch of malarky, just ask the President and all the congressmen that had it wrote into the bill that they do not have to use ObamaCare, while the normal ol’ people do.
So today on Saturday, if you support Hobby Lobby, get to your local store and let your thoughts be know. Tweet it out, Facebook it, and Instagram it. Let your voice be heard loud and clear and tell our government that we still want the freedom of Religion. We do not have to agree with each other’s beliefs but we still need to grant each other the right to practice them without government interference.
