I know it’s not perfect, definitely won’t have a scientific journal knocking on my door for this picture unless they get wind that I’m a premenopausal ape, but it’s a victory for me. A big huge victory.
Super Moon
I’m trying really hard to get better at photography every single day, even if I have to stand outside in the most humid night humanly possible, sweating like a menopausal ape mid hot flash and pointing a camera kinda at my neighbors house, I’m gonna do it. Sorry for the run on sentence, it’s the hot flash talking.
Tonight I decided to photograph the “super moon”.
It started off kinda like this…
Which I honestly still think has a very haunting beauty to it, especially with the dark outline of the neighbors house but it wasn’t what I was looking for.
Everything was coming out blurry even though I was using the tripod and I just couldn’t get the shutter speed right. So I came back inside defeated before I realized that I have a little friend named Google.
After standing outside for almost an hour in the extreme humidity so bad that you could probably water the lawn with me right now, I googled “how to photograph the moon.”
Then I sent back outside and with two clicks got this….
And if you zoom in, it looks like this…

Isn’t Google a wonderful thing? Don’t feel bad, I ALWAYS forget the best way to shoot the moon, even though I’ve done it a bunch of times. So I fiddle around and fiddle around in the dark and am still never quite happy with the results. You done good!
