Strike up the band, pull out the noise makers, it’s time to get this end of year party started. And by party, I mean a nap.
This year has been a dozy in my personal world but you guys have stood strong as loyal readers – through blowing out my knee to our area being decimated by Harvey – you guys are always there and I appreciate it more than words can say.
As usual, I’m going to take a few minutes and share with you what posts have been the most popular this year and I’ll bet that you’ll find something to add to your Pinterest profile to tackle in the new year.
The Most Popular on Google:
Believe it or not, a ton of visits to this website come each day from Google. What are people searching for and what are they finding?
Yes! This is one of my most popular posts on Google and also the thing that my mother-in-law requests me to make for her throughout the year! So even though the title says “Christmas”, this is truthfully just a recipe for toffee and can be enjoyed year round!
How to Protect Your Pipes From Freezing
I’m going to call my dad today and tell him how popular this post has become. He’ll be so proud. If you’re in one of the states where this artic air is about to hit, including Texas, share this post with your friends on Facebook so they’ll know how to protect their pipes from freezing in a pinch!
What Types of Scissors Should You Use?
Have you ever wondered why there’s so many different types of scissors at the craft store? Are you really using the right one for your project? Are your kids using the right kind or are they stealing your fabric ones for paper again?
The Most Popular on Pinterest:
I still love Pinterest to this day. I use it all the time. I have secret boards with ideas for a future bathroom remodel and public boards that range from everything to great free printables to one called, “Getting Crafty With It”.
With Valentine’s coming up, this is the perfect easy craft for all levels to make. Lately I’ve seen people using this same technique to make t-shirts and even coffee mugs.
I can see why this is a favorite. It’s easy and gorgeous. My daughter has stolen the one I made for myself so I’ll be doing this one again soon. Maybe I’ll see what else I can add to it.
I love free printables because they are so easy and you can do so much with them. Make them into a card, set them as your phone’s home screen or just print them and pop them into a frame. But the best part of this one is that it’s a quote from Mr. Darcy. Be still my love for Pride and Prejudice.
My Personal Favorites:
I love so many posts here on Clumsy Crafter and sometimes my personal favorites just don’t take off or don’t get much traction, but that’s OK because I got the opportunity to write it and if it helped just one person, it makes me happy.
This project just makes me smile. I posted it saying that it would never snow in Houston but I guess God saw the humor in the cup because a week later it snowed.
These pendants are adorable and easy. My daughter still wears one of these necklaces all the time and it makes me smile to see it. If you can play with play-doh, you can make these pendants.
A Few of My Favorite Things – Reading Edition
I love to read. I know many of you are setting goals of how many books you want to read in the coming year but let’s just say that I’m afraid to count how many books I actually read this year. My kindle deserves an anniversary gift from me. This post explains some of my favorite reading tools and books from this past year.
I still can’t make it through this post without crying. I’m doing better – I am. But Harvey has been hard. If you want to help, please consider checking out RecoverLakeHouston.com and sending letters to Texas Congressmen and the Texas Governor asking them to help prevent us from flooding in the future.
And with that, 2017 is coming to a close here on Clumsy Crafter!
I hope you have a wonderful rest of this year!
